a sentence a day | 27

As I was driving Ethan to work this morning, there was a deer standing in the middle of Route 126. I slowed down. She moved slightly and then a fawn came up from the ditch. The road was quieter than normal, but we could see cars coming behind us. We didn't know what to do so we gave them a little honk to get them moving. They responded slowly and then mom continued across the road and started leaping through the field while the fawn turned back the way they came and ran into the bushes. Seeing them go in opposite directions made me cry. I was thankful they were safely off the road, but now I'm worried about them finding each other.
