A year ago, Eliza (#11) began the tryout process to represent the province of New Brunswick at the upcoming Canada Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba this August. After bi-monthly training on top of normal club practices, training trips to Toronto and Montreal and tournaments in Vancouver and throughout New Brunswick as well as 3 rounds of cuts, today she was selected as one of the 12 members of the New Brunswick Canada Games team!
I'm so proud of her! She has worked extremely hard over the past year, going above and beyond her normal practices, which is a lot on its own, adding 3 morning practices a week, before school, to improve her skills even more. Well done, Eliza! Your hard work has paid off and you have achieved this goal! I'm proud of you and honored to be your dad! I love you sweetie!

Thank you to her amazing coaches - Monette Boudreau-Carroll, Mike Roy, Lauren Hale-Miller and Natasha LeBlanc - for pushing her this year and guiding her to a higher level and the next step in her journey.
For my American family and friends, the Canada Games are a mini version of the Olympics for Canadian high school athletes. They happen every 4 years and each province selects a team for each event and then they compete against each other in two weeks of competition for Winter and Summer sports.
