day 28 | slice of life challenge

A week ago, Ethan and I traveled to Bathurst for a tournament. Jim was coaching the girls here in Moncton so I had to be the driver. I'm usually the one napping and reading a book! It had been a while since I'd driven any distance and I get tired just driving around town (wink) so I was hesitant. Two kind families, travelling the same way, invited me to drive along with them. As soon as Ethan and I hit the road, I remembered what I loved about being behind the wheel. It's singing along with my music! Ethan was patient. (However, I noticed he stuck his ear plugs in often!) I listened to everything, including the oldies like Supertramp, Eagles, Billy Joel, and Hall & Oates. Ethan even joined in to sing along with "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"! What a hoot!

  1. I was listening to U2 in the car the other day with my kids. My daughter Maggie started singing along to "Where the Streets Have No Name." I didn't even know she knew it. My favorite was when was was really little and sang along with "I Shot the Sheriff." Or maybe the time both she and her younger brother joined in with "All You Need is Love." Special moments. I am like you. I love cranking my tunes in the car and singing along. Enjoy these times.

  3. My husband and I always shuffle to see who gets to listen to who's music first. It is so much better than listening to the business news.
