I was reading a math book for school.
I was sitting by Dale, near the end of the bed, in the rehab unit.
The nurse, from another unit, had taken an extra shift and recognized James and Dale.
We talked.
She said to me, "It wasn't a survivable injury. I was preparing your family for his death that whole first day."
I scratched down what she said inside the cover of the math book.
Then I moved her words to this sticky note and placed it in a journal.
Years have passed by.
I reread her words the other day.
To some, it didn't seem possible that James could survive the head injury from the car accident.
It was possible to us.
It was possible to us.
Our God is a God of miracles.
......................................................................................................................
And then God
This is so special.
ReplyDeleteI will be forever grateful for those who cared for my husband, Loralee. They were blessings to us both. Thanks for sharing your story, kept close all these years.
ReplyDeleteSmall big moment transcending time and space. A short sentence filled with so much.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. Those nurses are God's angels. He lives, breathes, and speaks through them. Thanks so much for sharing your story.
