I had never been to a ballet. During my first year of grad school in Boston, I was surprised with tickets to Giselle at the Wang Theatre. Just the building alone took my breath away.
We later returned for the Nutcracker at Christmas time. (As I write, I am remembering that it was the same evening as one of my classes, a class where I was the only student. Dr. Knox, who was also my advisor, gave me the night off.)
The Wang Theater is still the most beautiful building I've ever been in.
