There are many beautiful lines in the series, Call the Midwife.

In one episode, there is a story of Arnold and Ruth, an older Jewish couple who survived the holocaust in Germany. While they found it difficult to talk about her terminal illness, they were resilient and loved each other deeply. As his wife took her final breaths, Arnold spoke gently to her.

If I never said I was grateful to you,
I say it now.
If I never said I was proud of the home that you kept,
I say it now.
If I didn't tell you that you were beautiful,
when your face grew lined,
when you didn't have a new blouse from one summer's end to the next,
I say it now.
And if I didn't tell you that I love you,
I say it now.
