Jim shared something he heard on CBC radio a long time ago.

Instead of saying “If there’s anything I can do, let me know”, say “This is what I'd like to do for you today.” And then they can say yes or no. When people are grieving, they often don't want to ask for help, or they may not even know what they need.

Instead of saying “How are you doing?”, say “How are you doing today?”
