Slice of Life | His Last Day

A------'s family found a new place to live,

but it meant moving to another school.

On his last day, we gathered in our gratitude circle.

This time we all said the same thing,

   "I'm thankful for A------."

When the rain stick reached him, he said,

   "I'm. not. going."

His English was clear

and he said it with determination and a twinkle in his eye,

We giggled with him

   and wished he wasn't going.

  3. I've had a student have to say goodbye through the years, never easy in a loving community which yours sounds like. What a nice modeling you are giving your students in being positive.

  8. At least you were able to say goodbye. So many of our students just leave. No goodbye hug, no goodbye cry, no goodbye. What a great lasting memory that he was so loved.
