Moms In Prayer
When Annie was in kindergarten, I started leading a Moms In Prayer group.
We had sweet hours of prayer for our children and school every week.
We met for years.
Oh, how I miss praying like we prayed in our Moms In Prayer group.
What I miss the most is -
the short, simple conversational praying
bringing one subject at a time to God
the prayers of praise to Him
the time of thanksgiving over answered prayers
praying with God's beautiful promises
hearing another pray for my children
It's hard to capture in words how sweet the hour was.
Ever since, when praying with others, my brain gets jumbled and I think,
Wait. Wait.
You have prayed about so many things.
I want to pray with you about each one.
Wait. Wait.
I just prayed about something and you started praying about something else.
Please pray with me about it.
It's just the way we have prayed, praying through a list. It's still beautiful and real and heart-moving and heart-changing and more. It's just not the same as being in a Moms In Prayer group.
Moms In Prayer taught me more about the beauty of prayer and the connection to Him and to others. There's a slowing down and talking to Him together.
