Slice of Life Challenge | Day 1

A slice is a snippet of your day. We write about the ordinary moments, the daily grind, and the mundane chores. A slice doesn't have to be anything fancy or life altering. In fact, the more commonplace, the better. Slices are also short in nature. There's no need to write a lot of words. - Ruth Ayres, What can you learn from Slice of Life writing?

I have enjoyed the Slice of Life Challenge immensely over the years and I know it is good for us as teachers, but I still wasn't motivated after reading through my old slices.

Last night, I decided to not do it this year.

And then I received an encouraging message from Leigh Anne.

I am going to remind myself that a slice is a snippet of my day.

  1. So glad Leigh Anne's message encouraged you to be here. I got to meet Leigh Anne in person at All Write one year. She's a delightful friend to so many of us. Looking forward to more snippets of your day this year!

  3. Isn't funny how you can be so easily swayed? I'm happy you are here too. It's been too long ... Happy writing!
