Slice of life | The Ice Cream Cake

We were getting together with family for Mother's Day and for our kids' birthdays. On the way to my sister's house, we picked up an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. After dinner, we started singing Happy Birthday to Annie, Eliza and Ethan. I brought in the cake, which had started to melt on the kitchen counter, and we began to sing. Happy birthday to you! As Jim was holding the cake up in front of the kids, it slid right off the plate hitting Dad's glass of ice water. While we were laughing around the table, Jim scooped the cake back onto the plate and we started up again without missing the end of the song...And happy birthday to you!

  3. As long as no one is hurt, and there is some cake to eat, a runaway cake is not a problem. Great that you were all able to laugh and still sing.
