Slice of Life Challenge 5 | family camp at Camp Taconic

During Family Camp, Kim and I were on the cleaning crew as they didn't need all 12 of us to be counselors. The work load was still heavy, but we enjoyed some free time in the evenings and had a break from sleeping in the shelters.

If Kim was beside me right now, we would be giggling about the dancing in the trailer, playing volleyball on the wrong day, and Tim and Jim not thanking us nearly enough for cleaning that washroom for them!

Camp services were held under a large tent that was put up for the week. I remember having to patch holes in it. As I worked, I couldn't help but think of all the people who worshiped the Lord under that tent year after year.

Jim was baptized by Rev. Bergers at the end of the week. In the next photo, Kim and I are in blue shorts just above Jim's head. I was standing beside Jim's family and chatting with them. I didn't know they would be my future in-laws. God is always up to something!

  1. Each day unveils more of this beautiful story. I married a friend's brother and never thought about her parents being my in-laws! Yes, God is always up to something.
