Slice of Life | Day 6

Annie, Eliza and Ethan
2006

Within our family journal, there are sweet moments tucked in with the funny. It warms my heart when I read and remember...

June 2004
Eliza, why are you out of bed again?
Eliza: I need......love.

January 2005
Eliza was complaining about her socks being uncomfortable. Annie offered her socks to Eliza and said, "You can have my socks."

July 2005
Eliza: I wish people never had to be apart.

October 2006
Eliza, what was your favorite part of today?
Computer class.
Why?
I saw Annie walk by.

December 2007
When Ethan and Annie were giggling and playing Monkey Ball, I overheard Ethan say, "I wish you weren't my sister so I could marry you!"

September 2009
Ethan: Eliza, I need you because you are good at everything.

....Hmmm...I should have them read the journal when they are fighting!

  1. You should definitely have them read the journal when they are fighting and send Eliza and Annie straight back to October 2006. I LOVED THAT VIGNETTE!!! October 2006

Such simple words--such a powerful message! What a fun post to read!

    1. Good idea! I need to put a sticky tab on it so they can go straight there! :0)

      Thank you, Melanie!

  2. I love this - what a treasure you have collected. I wish I could back 15 years and recapture things from my own children. This is so magical!

    1. When the memories pop up here and there in your day to day, you could jot them down then! Still magical! :0)

  3. Your children are going to enjoy reading these snippets when they get older. You have captured the important parts of their young years. Loved the line: "When Ethan and Annie were giggling and playing Monkey Ball, I overheard Ethan say, "I wish you weren't my sister so I could marry you!""
