Oakland University Swim Team
After swimming for Grand Rapids Junior College, one of the top teams in the NJCAA, Jim transferred to Oakland University. They were the conference champs and the runner ups at the NCAA both years (and beyond). Before retiring from competitive swimming in 1990, Jim was named an All-American in high school, in the NJCAA and in the NCAA.
