Celebrate | Ugly Dolls Again

http://www.ruthayreswrites.com/2015/10/the-best-is-celebration-celebrate-this.html

A couple years ago, I posted the story of the Uglydoll in our house. Click here. This week, during our writing workshops, I shared the story with my class. Yesterday, with the help of my incredible mom (again), I gave them their own "ugly dolls".

In our family, we have a little Uglydoll that we hide around the house. When someone finds it, it is a reminder that he or she is loved and then it is hidden again.

My students wrote "how to" pieces to help start the tradition in their own families. May the hiding and finding bring lots of joy to their homes!

  1. What a loving tradition you have, and now to spread it to your students, too. Happy Valentine's Day!

  2. And that's how traditions get started and continue to live on and on. Such a sweet gift you have given your students! (What talent your mother has too!)
