St. Peter's Anglican Church
Public Landing, NB
When we are at my parents' cottage, we drive by this church. It is no longer a place where people meet to worship and learn about God on Sunday mornings. It sits quietly by the Saint John River now, but I'm sure the walls could talk of the families who gathered there. We drive by it often and feel sad that it was sold and not taken care of. On Saturday, my parents and I stopped at a yard sale next door. Instead of joining us, my dad looked for bottles in the ditch and then walked around the outside of the church. He peeked in some of the windows. When he got into the car, he said, "I wish I could get in there and sing."
